To celebrate Gulf World Marine Park will host World Oceans Day with lots of fun activities and special representatives from our local community.

Gulf World Marine Park is proud to join hundreds of other educational institutions, conservation organizations, and thousands of individuals in dozens of countries around the world to celebrate our shared ocean. World Oceans Day – held on June 8th of each year – is an opportunity to celebrate our world ocean and our personal connection to the sea.

The Ocean Project, an international network of over 1,200 aquariums, zoos, museums, and conservation organizations including Gulf World Marine Park, is working closely with the World Ocean Network to coordinate activities worldwide under the theme “Youth: the Next Wave for Change” with a special focus on getting the young people in our communities inspired to conserve our world’s oceans. Held every Saturday in good weather at the St. Andrews Marina from 8 am – 1 pm. Arts, crafts, fresh produce and seafood coupled with a fabulous waterfront view!

St. Andrews Waterfront Farmers Market first began as a seasonal market in 2004 under a modest circus tent (pictured right) at St. Andrews Marina.  Later that year, the community erected a pavilion to house the Market.  In September, 2010 a group of dedicated volunteers took the Market on as a challenge and transformed it into the current vibrant, bustling year-round market with a unique Make-It-or-Grow-It atmosphere.   In April, 2011 the market became host to St. Andrews Community Garden and together they work to promote our local agriculture, inspire healthy living and improve our regional economy.

Our first market expansion occured on September 10, 2011 and puts us on BOTH sides of the water – at St. Andrews Marina and at Smith’s Yacht Basin on Beck Ave.  For $1.00 each way, shoppers enjoy  3-minute ferry service between the two market sites on beautiful St. Andrew Bay.  Our Market is proud to be America’s only farmers market to offer ferry service to its shoppers!

We will expand the market again in 2012!  On April 15, 2012, our market arrives in Grand Lagoon at Pirate’s Cove.

Join us every Saturday from 8am to 1pm in St. Andrews and every Sunday at Grand Lagoon from 1 to 6pm.

Celebrate this special event with your furry friends at ZooWorld! ALL ADMISSIONS ARE ONLY $1.00 for this special day!!!  Enjoy our 7 acres filled with endangered and exotic species, have your picture taken with a show animal and pet a wolf all in the same day. Pet Friendly Locations
Frank Brown Park has two pet friendly areas. A fenced in playground is available where dogs can run leash-free, as well as 1.5 miles of dog-friendly trails and greenways. Frank Brown Park

Doggie Beach is located across from Pier Park and west of the City Pier. The 400 foot beach is open to dogs on leashes, and they love strolling the beach and enjoying the waves in Panama City Beach!

In addition, another Panama City Beach pet friendly spot is Aaron Bessant Park (next to Pier Park), and many people love strolling in the green grass and bright sunshine with their leashed canines in tow. The park also offers a lovely grass amphitheater which plays host to a “Summer Concert Series” on Thursday nights. Dogs are welcome to these events, too!

 Pier Park in Panama City Beach, the outdoor shopping mall, is another Panama City Beach pet friendly locale. Ron Jon’s Surf Shop allows dogs inside that can be carried. Otherwise, dogs are not allowed inside stores or restaurants, but are allowed to stroll the streets on leashes with their owners.
