Sweets for your Sweetie is the theme for our Valentine’s Day cook-off. From cookie to cakes and all things scrumptious take your best shot and aim for the win. Prizes for the best offerings $250, $150 and $100 are good reason to perfect your recipe. Admission for the event will be $5 and each person will be provided 5 tickets to place their vote. All proceeds will benefit the Senior Center.

Friday, February 3rd at 7:30pm, the Martin Theatre presents Cool and Swingin’, featuring alto sax legend Richie Cole. Set in the format of a radio broadcast, the production touches upon the Cole’s 40 year career with Buddie Rich and Lionel Hampton to Doc Severinsen’s Tonight Show Band. Mardi Gras in Downtown Panama City!

Friday, February 3rd, 2012 kicks off the Annual Mardi Gras party in downtown Panama City! There will be a Mardi Gras Block Party that will begin at 3pm and last until 6pm. The party will continue into Saturday, February 4th with the Mardi Gras Festival beginning at noon in the McKenzie Park and lasting until 10pm. The Mardi Gras Parade will begin at 3pm along Harrison Ave, from 13th Street to Beach Dr. The Krewe of Massalina Mardi Gras will be giving away hundreds of of gift certificates worth thousands of dollars from local venues. Panama City Beach Winter Resident’s “Senior Prom”

February 10th from 6-9pm—Senior Prom, Edgewater Beach Resort

The Convention & Visitors Bureau will be hosting a Beach-Themed Senior Prom complete with tunes from the 50’s and 60’s, twist and shag contests and our very own King and Queen with their court. Nominations will be given by friends and family via submissions on our website. The King and Queen will be awarded an amazing prize package that includes airline tickets for 2 friends or family members to join them for a weekend along with $500 spending money, use of a limo, keys to the city and topped off with crowns and special flowers to celebrate this wonderful event. All entries should be submitted by January 23rd at 5:00 PM.

Pet Friendly on Panama City Beach

Pet Friendly Locations
Frank Brown Park has two pet friendly areas. A fenced in playground is available where dogs can run leash-free, as well as 1.5 miles of dog-friendly trails and greenways. Frank Brown Park

Doggie Beach is located across from Pier Park and west of the City Pier. The 400 foot beach is open to dogs on leashes, and they love strolling the beach and enjoying the waves in Panama City Beach!

In addition, another Panama City Beach pet friendly spot is Aaron Bessant Park (next to Pier Park), and many people love strolling in the green grass and bright sunshine with their leashed canines in tow. The park also offers a lovely grass amphitheater which plays host to a “Summer Concert Series” on Thursday nights. Dogs are welcome to these events, too!

Pier Park in Panama City Beach, the outdoor shopping mall, is another Panama City Beach pet friendly locale. Ron Jon’s Surf Shop allows dogs inside that can be carried. Otherwise, dogs are not allowed inside stores or restaurants, but are allowed to stroll the streets on leashes with their owners.
